IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jon Edward
Armel
February 14, 1953 – August 23, 2021
Jon Edward Armel was born February 14, 1953 in Moline Illinois, passed away peacefully August 23, 2021 with his loving wife of 25 years, Kimberly by his side.
Jon was blessed with a large family. He loved his children more than he could express. Along with family he endeared countless friends. None more special than his lifelong friend Mark Wagoner.
Jon and Kim loved traveling the country, going to races, camping and canoe trips with the family.
Jon was fun loving and hard working. He was proud of his employment as an iron worker for Rich Kramer Construction. He was humbly generous with his time to help others. He shared tools and helped many coworkers. It was not uncommon for Jon and Kim to be in the parking lot of a store and hear someone yelling "Hey Grandpa". They would hug Jon and relay to Kim how Jon had helped him get his start, or driven miles out of his way to be sure they made it to work. At Kramer's his friendship with David Carlton resulted in an introduction to Kim.
His parents John Armel and Velma (Ruhs) Armel-Potter, grandson Andrew Mills and Stepbrother Norman Potter preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Norwood (husband Mal); stepsister, Diane Brookhart (husband Jerry) and stepbrother, Jim Potter; c hildren, Jeannette Pinnock (husband Kemar); Brandon Armel-Walker; Chad Armel (wife Angela); Kelly Laster (husband Franklin); Dixie Hepner; stepchildren, Jodie Moore (Eli Keeland) and Lorinda Trantham (Brad).
He was blessed with 2 nieces, 19 Grandchildren, and 14 Great-grandchildren.
At times, he may have played a little rough, hugged a little too tight but his loss for words won't diminish his big heart and the love he had for family and friends. This good man will be missed.
