Jon Quentin Ames, born 7/24/45 to James Q. & Gladys E. Ames, in Oshkosh, WI. Jon passed away 4/16/2026 after a long battle with Primary Lateral Sclerosis (PLS).

Jon attended school in Oshkosh, WI. Jon went on to attend University of Wisconsin-Madison and then University of Texas in San Antonio with a degree in Hospital Administration. Jon served in the US Army National Guard. Jon’s career included Cox Health Systems and Mercy Hospital, Aurora Hospital in Aurora, MO and was owner of a Nursing Home. Jon tried to retire and decided retirement was not for him then went on to pursue another career and enrolled at Ozark Technical Community College in Computer Technology and obtained his HVAC Certification. OTC offered him a job in Purchasing and Receiving. Jon finally did officially retire in 2011. One of Jon’s favorite things was spending the winters in Florida working on their Florida house. Jon was always busy with a “project”, liked to fix things and working on his rental properties.

Jon is survived by his wife Susie. His son Chris, Daughter, Carrie (Josh), 5 Grandchildren Corinne & Colin Ames, Oliver, Max & Grant Coley. His brother Richard (Pam) Ames, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Jon was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses and enjoyed learning and studying the Bible. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
