Johnny Laine Stapleton Sr., 69, of Cape Fair, MO, passed away August 9, 2021 after a battle with a short illness. He was born September 29, 1951, in New Orleans, LA to Rudolph and Marie Stapleton.
Johnny Laine Stapleton Sr served as a Marine in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. After honorable completion of his service, he passionately worked as a truck driver for 30 plus years. Johnny was always the life of the party and a social person. He was always ready to tell a good story as well as hear one. Johnny loved to laugh and to tell a good joke. He was always available when needed and would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need. He loved his family and wanted nothing more than to see his kids happy and successful.
Johnny was raised in Monroe, LA. Much of his family currently reside in Louisiana. Johnny and his wife Judy retired to Cape Fair, MO, seventeen years ago. Johnny was an active member at his church, Hurley Baptist Church in Hurley, MO.
Johnny was preceded in death by his wife, Judy M. Stapleton; parents, Rudolph and Marie Stapleton; all four of his siblings, James W. Stapleton, Rudolph Stapleton Jr., Judy D. Reynolds, and Janice Shamblin.
Johnny is survived by his children, Johnny L. Stapleton Jr. and wife Shelly Davis, Darrell D. Stapleton and wife Brenda Stapleton, Kammy A. Butler and husband Kyle Butler, Clark W. Stapleton, Tamatha L. Knighton and husband Chris Knighton, Justin L. Stapleton and wife Kerri Stapleton, Robert S Aulds Jr. and wife Patti Aulds, Rodney D. Aulds and wife Pam Aulds. Johnny is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be August 16, 2021, from 4-6 p.m. at Hurley Baptist Church, 5995 Hwy A Crane, MO 65633. Funeral will be August 17, 2021, at 11 AM, in the Hurley Baptist Church with the graveside and burial at 2 PM in the Veterans Cemetery in Springfield MO. Pall bearers for the burial is Johnny Stapleton Jr, Darrel Stapleton, Robert S. Aulds Jr, Rodney Aulds, Justin Stapleton, and Robert Sidney Aulds III.
