Rev. Johnnie Ray Smith Sr. 71 of Joplin, Mo passed away Sunday April 2, 2017. He was born February 7, 1946, in Dallas Texas to Elmer and Maggie Smith.

Mr. Smith was an ordained Minister for over 30 yrs. He was very involved in the Music Ministry. He also worked in the Construction Industry for 37 yrs. working his way from helper to Construction Superintendent.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Francis Smith and Dora Leottia Smith; and siblings, W.B. Marcus, Cecil Smith, Charles Smith, Dorothy Perry, Maggie Watkins, Mary Wanda Mayo, Francis Perry, and Peggy Pickens.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Diana Smith; children, Tony Smith, Shannon Bradley, Johnny Ray Smith Jr., Teresa Smith, James Smith, Christine Davidson, Sammy Mitchell and Sarina Mendoza; siblings, Diana Bullon and Bertha Perry; and 32 Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.

A celebration of Mr. Smith's life will be held at Evangelistic Temple 3011 Loop 256 Palestine, TX 75803 on April 22, 2017 at 11 a.m.
