Johnnie Paul Martin, 80, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021 with family by his side. He was born November 8, 1940 to Paul and Estie Martin in Lowry, AR and grew up in Ozark, MO.
He was a beloved spiritual friend to many and was always available to help family. He will be celebrated and dearly missed by his family and friends.
He was a 1958 graduate of School of the Ozarks High School and completed SofO Junior College in 1960. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962-1966 spending time in Germany and later went on to receive his Bachelor of Science in Art with a minor in Physical Education from Southwest Missouri State University in 1967 as well as a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture and Ceramics from the University of Oklahoma in 1976.
Johnnie was an entrepreneur, a jack-of-all-trades and MacGyver that could fix and make anything from what he had. He worked several years in Sheetrock including working on the Myriad Convention Center and Dean McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma City. He also owned and operated a family business, Bank Makers of America, from 1983-1997 producing and manufacturing realistic animal banks that were sold nationwide, all of his original designs.
He cherished the teachings of Audle Allison and was devoted to spiritual growth and helping others grow and develop spiritually. For over 40 years, Johnnie traveled throughout the United States and internationally as a holistic teacher sharing different healing techniques.
He is survived by his wife, Kristina, and children (his, hers and theirs), Amie Henson, Amber Minter, Ashley Wells, Alicia Whiteaker, Kayla Diamond, Atom Martin, Astara Martin and Aila Martin, and their spouses, Carter Henson, Cory Minter, Jason Wells and Chad Whiteaker, as well as 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 4 siblings, and many nephews/nieces, great nephews/nieces.

A private Celebration of Life will be held by the family. To honor his memory, the family asks that in lieu of flowers tribute donations be made to an Education Savings Account for his youngest children. Please contact Mid-Missouri Bank, Mt. Vernon, MO, care of Kristina Martin.
