John M. Manry of Springfield, MO, formerly of San Diego, CA, died on January 6, 2023, surrounded by his loving family; Donna Manry, wife; Tanya Manry and Barbara Manry, daughters; and grandsons, Clayton Manry-Clark and Aden Manry-Phillips. After graduating from San Diego's Kearny High School in 1963, John commenced a career in the roofing industry and later began his own roofing contracting firm, J.M. Manry Roofing Company, completing roofing projects over a 30 year career on major residential, commercial, and industrial developments in the Southwestern US.  In addition to operating his company, John built two of his residences while living in East County San Diego, and his third while living in Strafford, MO.

John had a penchant for playing as hard as he worked, and spent much of his off-work time with family and his many friends at his second home on the Colorado River, located waterside in the Fisher's Landing lagoon adjacent to Martinez Lake, AZ.  He thoroughly enjoyed the desert heat in summertime and could be seen motor boating or river drifting with family and friends down the Colorado River during daytime, and energetically participating in the camaraderie of nighttime activities.

After retiring, John relocated his primary residence to the Springfield, MO area to be closer to Donna's family, and was later joined there by Tanya and Clayton.

A Celebration of Life will be held in John's honor at Martinez Lake, AZ later this summer.
