John Purd McReynolds, 60, of Springfield, MO, passed away Monday, July 11, 2016, at home with his beloved Becky by his side. He was born January 15, 1956, in Neosho, MO, to Kyle and Patsy McReynolds.

John served in the Army 6 years before pursing his studies in criminology. John recently gave his life to Christ and was baptized in the Little Sac River. He enjoyed family and friends along with hunting and fishing. Thanks to his sister Shelly, his newest form of entertainment was the art of texting.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kyle McReynolds; mother, Patsy McReynolds; and niece, Elizabeth Davis.

John is survived by his love, Becky Rushing; children, Stephen McReynolds, J.P. McReynolds, Jason Goodale, Sarah Rushing, Bridget Rushing, Mandy Johnson, Quentin Pendergrass; granddaughter, Azlyn and grandson, Brayden; siblings, Margo Davis, Shelly Hodges and husband Danny, Scott McReynolds and wife Michelle, Belinda Carpenter and husband John; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He is also remembered in the hearts of special friends, Kevin and Becky Dodson, Rex Peck, and Tammy Fay.

A celebration of John's life will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, July 16, 2016, in the Christian Community Church, 1300 W Poplar St, Springfield.
