IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John
Anderson
December 20, 1945 – September 29, 2020
John Harvey Anderson, 74, of Ozark, MO, passed away September 29, 2020. He was born December 20, 1945, in Chicago, IL, to H. R. "Andy" and Mary (Carter) Anderson.
John served in the United States Navy. He retired from being a traveling salesman with a Glamour Photography company in Kansas after many years and traveling to 48 states. John enjoyed old cars and could name the year make and model of them all. He loved oldies music; along with collecting coins, cards, swords, knives, rare mugs, and matches from everywhere he traveled. He loved to travel with his family and his job.
He always took the kids out for their birthdays even as children. Eventually it became a tradition for birthday dinners at Olive Garden - dad's treat. He was the biggest fan ever of the KC Chiefs and had season tickets. He also loved the Royals and attended many games with his sons and their families. They would often tailgate before the game. His daughter attended a few too but it was always family fun whether they won or lost.
John was a member of the Heartland Church in Blue Springs, MO while living there and also became a member of Rock of Ages Church in Leavenworth, KS while living there was always sharing the gospel with others. He loved Jesus very much and knew he was saved. His heart grew with his life experiences. John put his life on hold, to be his brother, Larry Anderson's, caretaker until he passed. That made John's heart grow, whenever he would talk about anything that was special to him he would cry with his words. He also often used laughter to express his emotions. He liked to tell silly jokes and make people laugh, even if it meant it made him look silly. He will certainly be remembered as the jokester. But most of all he will be remembered has a loving father and grandfather. John loved all 3 of his kids so much you couldn't measure. He gave them advice, never judged, always helped them. John was always there for his kids. And will be severely missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Larry Anderson.
John is survived by his children, John Chadwick and wife Heather, Jared Anderson and wife Kerri, and Jennifer Dawn Anderson and husband Joe Martinez; grandchildren, Jeremy Tilton, Micheala Routh, Zachary Merchant, Stormie Martinez, Garrison Gritton, Payton Crutcher, and Cameron Anderson; great-grandchildren, Grayson Tilton, and Milo Wicklein ; sisters, Joni Smith and husband Rod, and Cindy Ginsburg and husband Mel; nieces and nephews, Jeremy O'Bryan, Julie Tomlin, Mackenzie Ginsburg, and David Ginsburg.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services.
