Joe Wesley McLemore, 90, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away September 8, 2023. He was born May 3, 1933, in Greenfield, MO, to Orville and Alma McLemore.

Joe moved to Springfield, Missouri when he was seven where he stayed for the rest of his life. He retired from the Missouri Army National Guard in 1993 with 35 years of service. He was married to his wife Mary for over 62 years. He loved to quail and pheasant hunt, work with his bird dogs, canoe the rivers of Southern Missouri while spending time with his family and friends. Joe was a dedicated Christian, Deacon and longtime member of Grace Bible and National Heights Baptist Church where he spent many years serving God and his community.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Alma McLemore; and brother, Orville Jr.

Joe is survived by his wife, Mary McLemore; children, Kathy Wilkes and husband Terry, Mark McLemore and wife Tiffany; grandchildren, Marcus and his wife JoJo Wilkes, Harrison Wilkes, Grace Gasek, Roman Gasek, and Finley McLemore; and two great-grandchildren, Addison and Cohen Wilkes.

Visitation will be held Friday September 15, 2023, from 10-11 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11 a.m. in the Mansion at Elfindale Chapel, 1701 S. Fort, Springfield, MO. Graveside services will be held at 9 a.m., Monday, September 18 in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery with full Military Honors. Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services.
