Jody Dean King, 54, of Billings, MO passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2022. He was born August 8, 1967, to Charles and Marjory King, in Aurora, MO.
Jody attended Billings High School, graduating in 1985. Following graduation, he joined the army in October 1985 and served until June 1987 when he was honorably discharged. He married Tammy Booth, November 3, 1990, and was married for 30 years. She survives.
Growing up, Jody participated in bulldogging events in the rodeo. In his early years, he owned an excavating business. Jody enjoyed fishing, reading and had a great love of gardening and canning. He made the best salsa in the family. The love of his life were his grandkids.
He is survived by his son, Sterling; daughter, Jessie (Rich) Mitchell; granddaughters, Reagan and Shaylan; grandsons, Kody and Waylan; siblings, Toby (Mareena) King, Kelly (Scott) Sallee and Mike (Robin) King; nieces, Brooke (Lindsey), Lindsey (Charlie), Nikki and Samantha; great niece, Hailey; great nephews, Dakota and Jace; aunts, Peggy (Dave) Lane, Marie Clinton and Sherree Clinton; uncles, Joe (Judi) Walker, Marvin (Jessie) Clinton and Gary "Pete" Clinton; as well as a host of other much loved family.
Jody was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marjory; uncles, Delmar, Delbert, and Milford Clinton, Bob and Kenneth Walker, cousins, Chad Owens, Steven and Dennis Riott, and niece Brandee Scott.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 26, at 10 am at Hurley Baptist Church, 5995 State Hwy A, Hurley, MO 65675, with Pastor Larry Winfree conducting the service. Coffee and refreshments will be provide following the service for all who would like to visit with the family. Private graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ozarks Counseling Center, 614 South Avenue, Springfield, MO 65806 or www.ozarkscounselingcenter.org with "in memory of Jody King" in the memo.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services.
