Joan Gay Moore-Hotelling, 73, of Springfield, MO, passed away on 24 July 2021. She was born to parents Henry Wayne and Josie Irene Moore, on 9 April 1948, in Springfield, MO.
Joan was a devoted mother, step-mother, and grandmother to her son Harold Wayne Hotelling and Darrin Hotelling and family. She was a sister to siblings, Don Moore, Vernon Moore, Jim Moore, Sherin Vest, and Carolyn Turner. She was "Aunt Jo" to many nieces and nephews.
Joan loved her family dearly and spent a lot of time babysitting and raising nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. She never turned down anyone that needed a babysitter in times of need. She had a joyous laughter that could put a smile on anyone's face. She was always ready to give to anyone in need.
Joan is survived by a son, Harold Wayne Hotelling; step-son, Darrin Hotelling and family; sisters, Sherin Vest and Carolyn Turner; sisters-in-law, Connie Moore and Lena Moore; nieces and nephews, Tammy Vich, Tina Landeros, Terry Moore, Tyler Moore, Debbie Moore, Robert Moore, Troy Moore, Polly Moore, Frank Turner, and David Higginbotham and their families.
She was preceded in death by Henry and Jessie Moore, her mother and father; brothers, Don, Vernon, and Jim Moore; and nephews, Max Swain and Daniel Higginbotham.
