Joan Irene Mills, 77, of Springfield, MO passed away Friday, January 26, 2024. She was born December 13, 1946, to Ace and Ruby Garner in Marion, IN.

First and foremost, Joan was an amazing mother and grandmother. Her awesome faith kept her strong and she was passionate about comforting others. Joan enjoyed reading, singing, and dancing. She was an excellent card player and was known for being a strategic card shark. She never let anyone win except for her great grandson, Logan. She enjoyed crocheting and shared her talent with her great granddaughter, Kenzy. She was a talented baker and taught her granddaughter Melody how to make Coconut Cream Pie. Cooking was her love language.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Sunny Garner, June DeWitt, Aceline Garner and Judy Garner; brothers, Richard Garner and Verlin Garner; and great granddaughter, Payton Leakey.

Joan is survived by her son, Terry Jarrett and wife Mary; daughter, Lisa Callahan; many grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
