Joan Pearl Hartman (Stammen) of Springfield MO passed away on June 16th, 2025, at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her parents Dorthy and Ambrose Stammen and brother Duane Stammen. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Gene Hartman and two sons Randy (Kathy Hartman) and Mark Hartman. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Ted Hartman (Kayse Reker), Megan Hartman, Linda Hartman, Ben Hartman, and Molly Jennings (Tyler Jennings) as well as her four great grandchildren Robert Jennings, Kallum Hartman, Jackson Jennings, and Bellamy Hartman.

Joan was born in rural ND, went to college at NDSU in Fargo and received her MS degree from Virginia Polytechnic. She lived throughout the US and Japan with her husband Gene who was an Air Force Officer. She taught preschool in Hawaii, high school in Virginia and later counseled second language students in Virginia into her 70's. She loved to sing in the church choir, teach young people and spend time helping children. She will be missed by her family, friends and past students.
