Jessica Wilson

Jessica Lynn Wilson, 37, passed away on March 3, 2026. She was born on September 19, 1988, in Springfield, Missouri, to Matthew Wilson and Janice Wilson (Edwards), making her the youngest of three children.

If you were to ask her mother, Jessica was a sweet, innocent, and well-behaved child. Her siblings, however, remember things a bit differently. They remember an ornery, possibly even bratty little sister who might have even threatened their lives once or twice. But being the baby of the family kept her out of trouble more often than not.

Jessica was always a sweet soul with a kind spirit. If you were her friend, you were her family. She made many friends throughout her life, all of whom will miss her terribly.

One of the greatest joys in Jessica’s life was being near the water, something she inherited from her father. She was always up for a day of swimming and basking in the sun. No matter the chaos going on in her life, she could always find peace at the river, the lake, or even the pool.

Jessica was very intelligent and proud of the fact that she was only one semester away from obtaining her Criminal Justice degree. If life had gone the way she originally planned, there is no telling how far she might have gone. But nothing would have made her prouder than being the mother of her girls.

She could admit that she didn’t always get everything right, but Madisyn and Ryder were beyond right. In her eyes, they were as close to perfect as you could get. Jessica was a doting mother, and in the end, it was the love she had for her family that truly defined her life. Her gentle heart, warm smile, and caring nature touched everyone who knew her.

Jessica was preceded in death by her father, Matthew Wilson; her grandparents, Albert and Ramona Wilson; her grandfather, Joe Edwards; and Madisyn’s father, Brent Hudson.

Jessica is survived by her loving mother, Janice Wilson of Buffalo; her sister, Melissa Steimel of Willard; her brother, Matthew Wilson (Paula) of Republic; her beloved daughters, Madisyn Hudson and Ryder Wilson; her fiancé, Steven Wilson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will truly miss her.

A celebration of life will be Saturday March 14th from 2-4 pm at Obannon Center 315 E Ramsey St. Buffalo, Missouri. A private burial will be at a later date.
