Jerry Shuler McNeely was born in Springfield, MO on February 28, 1962, to Troy Shuler McNeely and Virginia (Morrison) McNeely. He passed away in Springfield, on January 12, 2021, at age 58. Jerry graduated from Glendale High School in 1980. After high school, Jerry worked in the auto body business for many years.

In 1994, he married Linda (Taylor) Dodd and they had one son, Rily Haden McNeely. Jerry was also the stepfather of LeAnn, Trisha and Keith Dodd.

Jerry's greatest interest was the Great Outdoors. He learned spelunking, archery, canoeing, camping, hunting, fishing, arrowhead and rock collecting. Jerry was a good cook including wild game and camp cooking. Jerry was creative and inventive and was a competent handyman. He had an infectious sense of humor and could sometimes pass as a comedian. He enjoyed visiting with friends of long standing and neighbors on his street. His dog, George, was his faithful companion.

Jerry was predeceased by his father, Troy McNeely and both sets of grandparents and Linda (Dodd) McNeely.

Jerry is survived by his son, Rily McNeely; and granddaughter, Luna; his mother, Virginia (McNeely) Jones; two sisters, Valerie (Mike) Stanton, Maureen Dodson. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements will be under the direction of Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services, 2026 W Woodland, Springfield MO. Visitation will be Friday, January 15, from 4-5:30pm. A private family service will follow at 5:30pm. Masks are required.
