Gerald "Jerry" Keith Boyles, 88, of Springfield, MO, passed away May 9, 2023. He was born June 24, 1934, in Sulphur, OK, to Aaron and Velma Boyles.

Jerry grew up in Oklahoma where he met Bobbie, the love of his life, right out of high school. She knew right away that he was the one and the two were married in 1953. They had two daughters and remained married for an incredible 71 years.

When you met Jerry, you fell in love with him instantly. He was a wonderful "girl dad" and was loved fiercely by his grandkids, whom he enjoyed teasing. He was truly one of a kind.

Jerry was employed as the landscape designer for James River Nursery for over 30 years. When he retired from the nursery, he kept busy as a courier with Hogan Title Company. He was well known as "Uncle Jerry" by everyone he worked with.

Once Jerry retired completely, he and Bobbie were able to travel to Yellowstone and take an Alaskan cruise. Most of all, the two enjoyed each other's company and spending time with their grandkids. They hosted Bible studies every afternoon and were members of Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church for over 40 years. He was a wonderful Christian man.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron and Velma; sister, Sherry Chaffin; brother, Benny Boyles; and his son-in-law, Tracy Breedlove.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Bobbie Boyles; his children, Vicki Breedlove and Susan (Ken) Caldwell; grandchildren, Ashlee, Clay, and Justin; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Carter, Mason, and Sean; great-great-grandchildren, Nalaiyah and Nayomi; and a host of other family and friends.

Jerry lived a full life and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.
