Obituary for Jeannie Marie Looper (Postlewaite)

A Celebration of Life for Jeannie Marie Looper (Postlewaite), 67, of Pontiac, MO, will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Grove Square Event Center in Mtn. Grove, MO. Jeannie passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Jeannie was born on November 20, 1955, in Springfield, MO, the cherished daughter of Dean and Jean (Jarrett) Postlewaite. She leaves behind a legacy of love, adventure, and unwavering dedication to her family and friends.

Jeannie's journey through life was marked by a profound commitment to care for others. In 1986, she proudly graduated from the nursing program at SMSU West Plains, embarking on a lifelong career of compassion in healthcare. Her selflessness touched the lives of countless patients and their families.

A true lover of the great outdoors, Jeannie embraced a multitude of hobbies throughout her life. She found exhilaration in riding motorcycles and bicycles, and she also had a passion for deer hunting with her family. Her adventurous spirit led her to the beach, where she relished spending time with her grandbabies and family, deep sea fishing and many diving trips. In recent years, following her relocation with Don to Bull Shoals Lake, she reveled in the serenity of the lake, spending cherished moments with friends and extended family.

Jeannie's boundless love extends to her surviving family, including her devoted husband, Don Looper of Pontiac, MO; her sister, Deanice Jones, and husband Danny of Mtn. Grove, MO; her children, Nathan Looper and wife Jen of Waynesville, MO, Beth Van Gilder and husband Schuyler of Thompsons Station, TN, Jeremy Looper and wife Michelle of Greenville, TX, and Jared Emery and wife Ashley of Lebanon, MO.

She was a loving grandmother to Alex (Kaleigh) Jones, RJ (Maddie) & Levi Looper, Annie Hicks-Looper, Kort Van Gilder, Jackson, Madison, Harrison & Emerson Looper, and Jameson, Everett & Lincoln Emery. She also delighted in her great-grandchildren, Indy & Flynn Jones and Hudson Looper. Jeannie's heart extended to many nieces, nephews, a host of relatives, and countless friends who were touched by her in so many ways.

Jeannie Marie Looper was preceded in death by her parents, Dean & Jean Postlewaite, and her sister, Cheryl Todd (Postlewaite). Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her, and her legacy of love and adventure will inspire generations to come.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Jeannie's memory be made to the Pontiac Firework Fund. Jeannie's indomitable spirit, love for life, and dedication to her loved ones will be cherished and remembered forever.
