Obituary

Jeanne King, 83, went home to be with the Lord on June 6, 2026, at Maranatha Village in Springfield, Missouri. She was born Ruthie Jeane Cash on February 27, 1943, in DeWitt, Arkansas, to Howard and Una Cash, though she was known all her life as Jeanne. At the age of fourteen she was taken in and raised by her aunt, Ernie Jean Danner, whom she always called her favorite aunt. She grew up on the Arkansas Grand Prairie and graduated from Stuttgart High School in 1961.

Jeanne spent most of her life in Arkansas. In her earlier years she built a career as a hairdresser, owning salons and beauty schools and training others in the craft she loved. She later joined the University of Central Arkansas, working in the purchasing department until her retirement.

The great love of her life was her husband, Jerry King. Together they made a home in Vilonia, Arkansas, on a little farm that was Jeanne’s happy place. She loved her horses and her chickens, and she enjoyed the good rhythm of the simple country life.

During her years with Jerry, faith and church were at the center of Jeanne’s life. After he preceded her in death, she moved to Nevada to be near her daughter Rinda for several years, and later to Springfield, Missouri, to be close to her daughter Kesia and family. Though she never found a new church home in those later years, she remained a woman of quiet, steady faith, reading her Bible and sharing it with the friends she made along the way.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Una Cash; her brother, Richard Cash; her daughter, Lisa Michelle Taylor; and her beloved husband, Jerry King.

She is survived by her daughters, Kesia Danner-Bowman and her husband, Noble Bowman, of Springfield, Missouri, and Rinda Hensley and her husband, Golden Hensley, of Pfafftown, North Carolina; and her grandchildren, Lyndsey, Gabe, and Chase of Springfield, Missouri, and Rhett of Fernley, Nevada.

A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Jeanne’s memory. A reception and visitation will take place on Friday, June 26, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Conway Cowboy Church, 12 AR-36, Conway, Arkansas. A graveside celebration will follow on Saturday, June 27, at 11:00 a.m. at Crestlawn Cemetery in Conway.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
