Preceded in death by her mother Daisy Mae Ashley. Mother was known affectionately as Nana by her grandchildren and (Auntie) Bobbie by her nieces and nephews

and her sisters and brothers. Mother Janet M. Young was married into Holy Matrimony to Rev. John W. Young III, D.D on July 3rd, 1983, in Chicago, Illinois.  Mother Young former First Lady of Mt. Gilead Bible Church under the leadership of Rev. John W. Young III, D.D her husband.  While at Gilead Mother Young was involved in numerous church Auxiliaries. She was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the board of directors at Mt. Gilead Church. She was baptized in Jesus's name in approximately 1980.

You can always find her up at 4 am for early morning prayer and study. She was a reliable prayer warrior who loved to study the word of God. If she did not understand the context of what she was studying she was swift to ask questions to gain new knowledge and understanding.  Mother Young was a praying woman of God. She always had a kind and encouraging word for anyone that came into contact with her. Let's not forget Mother Young did not have a problem putting you in your place when needed. Mother Young wanted to make sure she was right with God and you could often hear her speaking about how she constantly wanted to improve her relationship with the Lord. Mother Young enjoyed reading her bible and when she was not at church she was working at home as a wife, mother, and foster mother.

Mothers Young's first job was as a live-in nanny for a working-class family. She had various job titles from time to time. She always had a passion for people and helping others. She returned to her studies and became a Certified Nursing Assistant/obtained her FireArms & Weapons training Certification to become a  security officer. She was a very vigorous hard worker. She constantly worked double shifts to provide for her family. She was known to take a change of clothes to work to freshen up so that she was always prepared to work those extra overtime shifts.  Mother retired at the tender young age of 64.
