James Marvin Rosselit, known to many as JR, was born on July 15, 1951, in San Bernardino, California. He passed away on May 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. JR’s life took him from California to Texas and eventually Missouri, with each place becoming part of the story he built with his family.
On July 7, 1979, JR married the love of his life, Deborah Konrad. Together, they built a life rooted in love, loyalty, and devotion. Though JR held many roles throughout his life, his most cherished and important role was being Deborah’s husband. Those who knew them saw a love that was rare and deeply genuine — the kind of love that left a lasting impression on everyone around them.
JR and Deborah were blessed with two children, Jenifer Sharp (Michael) and Justin (Brianna), and seven grandchildren: Jameson and Mason Rosselit, and Kaiden, Kael, Rhett, Baylor, and Tilden Sharp.
JR’s love for his family even showed up in the way he joked about himself. He had a funny way of explaining his hair, saying the lush dark hair on top was Deborah, while the gray in each sideburn was Jenifer and Justin. It was the kind of humor that was uniquely his — simple, memorable, and full of the people he loved most.
JR was truly a man of many talents and many callings. He proudly served his country as a Marine, worked as a police officer, and built multiple businesses, many rooted in the security industry. Outside of work, he had a love for aviation and enjoyed flying as a pilot. His path was anything but ordinary, and each chapter reflected his courage, determination, work ethic, and willingness to take on whatever came next.
JR loved to work and stay busy. He had a drive that was hard to miss, and he instilled that same work ethic and determination in his children. Whether through his words, his example, or simply the way he lived each day, JR taught those around him the value of showing up, working hard, and taking pride in what you do.
JR was also a man of faith. He served his church faithfully and was active in the Knights of Columbus, serving as a Grand Knight in both Missouri and Texas. While in Texas, he also served as a Master of the Fourth Degree. His faith, service, and dedication to helping others were important parts of who he was.
JR was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He lived a life marked by love, loyalty, hard work, faith, and deep devotion to the people closest to him. With a bit of cowboy grit and a heart firmly rooted in family, JR faced life with strength, determination, and quiet pride. Those who knew him will remember his presence, his character, and the lasting impression he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
JR was preceded in death by his parents, Norbert and Lorraine Rosselit; his brother, Frank; his sisters, Sharon and Lenore; his second mother, Helen; and his father-in-law, George Konrad.
He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah; his children, Jenifer Sharp (Michael) and Justin (Brianna); his seven beloved grandsons; his mother-in-law, Eleanor Konrad; his brothers-in-law, Steve Konrad and John (Tina) Konrad; his sisters, Kerry Price, Kim Kramnic, and Linda Rosselit Dietz (Lenny); his brother, Ron Rosselit; and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Services for JR will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Church in Springfield, Missouri. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, with a visitation luncheon to follow.
