James Jun Nagel, 53, Springfield, MO, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014, in his home surrounded by his family after a three month struggle with cancer. He was born in Omiya City, Japan, on February 1, 1961. The family moved to the US four years later.

James graduated from Kickapoo High School in 1979 where he excelled as an athlete. His big accomplishment his senior year was being all city, all district, and all conference. In later years, he bowled a 300 game that he was very proud of. He gave his son, Jared, the skills to carry on the family business of hanging vinyl wall covering. But he was the happiest being a proud father and dedicated his life to his "Sony", his one and only child, Jared.

He is survived by his son, Jared Nagel; parents, Oscar and Miyoko Nagel; cousins, Yoshi and Aboe Hada; and all of his loving friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 22, 2014, in The Chapel at Elfindale, 1701 S Fort, Springfield, MO 65807. Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services, Springfield.
