Obituary

James Berlie Fielder, 85, of Springfield, MO passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024. He was born January 27th, 1939, to Berlie and Virginia Fielder in Springfield, MO.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Fielder.

Jim (James) attended Central High School in Springfield, MO, then joined the army to serve his country as an MP. He was stationed in Heidelburg, Germany and helped keep the peace during the construction of the Berlin Wall. He was very proud of his military career.

After he completed his military service, he met and married Betty and went to work for Clark Lift Trucks, in Springfield, MO, then worked for O'Reily Automotive until his retirement. They had one son, and resided in the Springfield and Battlefield, MO area. They both attended Ridgecrest Baptist Church and were active in their Sunday school group. Jim was interested in everything automotive, which led to his career with O'Reily. He also loved motorcycles and owned and rode several during his youth and lifetime.

Jim is survived by his son, James David Fielder; daughter-in-law, Mary Fielder; grandson, Samuel Fielder; sister, Wanda White; and brother-in-law, Jerry White.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
