James Leroy Choates left this life full of laughter on Thursday, October 11, 2018. James was born in Hamburg, Iowa, to parents, James John Choates and Nina Francis Jennings on February 7, 1941.

James lived his life working construction which he had a huge passion for, as well as dancing, fishing, and being stubborn. He was a collector of many things and leaves behind lots of stuff his family has no idea what to do with.

He is survived by his children; Fred Choates, James Choates Jr. and wife Dana, Kimberly Perrone, John Choates, and Mona Warnke and husband Dave; 19 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will start at 2 PM, Sunday, October 28, 2018, in the Choates' home.
