IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Harrison
Brewer
April 10, 1938 – January 30, 2016
James Harrison Brewer, 77, of Springfield, MO, passed away January 30, 2016, in his home after a long illness. He was born April 10, 1938, in Springfield, MO, to Arthur and Lexie Brewer.
Before getting married and having a family, James served his country in the United States Navy as a sonar specialist. He later served as President of the Little League and for many kids he served not only as a coach but as a mentor and sometimes even a surrogate father. He did the same in the Might Mites Program for kids in the neighborhood and whoever else needed him.
Not only will his family and friends be saddened by this loss, but so will the hundreds of lives he touched during his life.
His family would like to recognize Mercy Hospice for all their hard work and the caring way they performed their jobs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Judy, in February 2011.
He is survived by three children, Mellisa Young and husband Evan of Springfield, Lorie Uselton and husband Sam of Springfield, Jeff Brewer and wife Laura of Overland Park, KS; and three grandsons, five granddaughters, and 9 great-granddaughters.
Visitation will be Friday, February 5, 2016, from 6- 8 PM, at Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services, 2026 W. Woodland St, Springfield, MO, followed by a private family service on Saturday.
