IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James "Jim"
Avery
July 8, 1951 – July 26, 2024
James "Jim" L. Avery was born July 8, 1951, and passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 26, 2024, at the age of 73. He was born to Roy Lee Avery and Patricia Boyer Avery in Springfield, Missouri as the first of their four children.
He attended Central High School graduating in 1969. He continued his education at Missouri State University where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Engineering. He served our country in the US Army Reserve until 1979.
Professionally, he was instrumental in the development and growth of Springfield Remanufacturing Corporation (SRC) and Avatar Components of Marshfield, Missouri. Later he worked as a Project Manager for Missouri Enterprise and John Deere Remanufacturing.
Retirement provided him time to pursue his creative passion and to remodel and build his dream home with little help. He lovingly called it "The Nold House" (his new-old house). He was a quiet genius with an exquisite eye for detail and outstanding creative ability that shows throughout his home.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Lee; brother, Willard; and his niece, Brittany, all of Strafford, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife, Renae Grimes; son, Christopher and his wife Sara Cotter and their children, Corabell and Chase of Springfield; stepson, Dan Grimes and his spouse, Rae Bausinger of Tucson, Arizona; mother, Patricia Avery; brother, Charles (Chuck) and his wife Norma of Springfield; sister, Teri Quick and her husband Rick of Strafford; and many nieces and nephews, family and friends.
In his honor, the Avery Family is hosting an informal gathering of family and friends on Sunday, August 25, 2024, from 2-4pm at the Strafford Senior Center, 201 West Bumgarner Blvd, Strafford, Missouri. Please join our family and share time to celebrate his life accomplishments of love and friendship. A life well lived!
