Obituary

Jaqueline Irene "Jackie" East, 82, of Ash Grove, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on January 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Jackie's life was one defined by strength, unwavering love for those around her, and fun–Jackie loved having fun.

Jackie was born on January 13, 1944, in Long Beach, California. While living in California, she worked at the Douglas Aircraft Factory, where she assembled wiring and radios for jets — a testament to her skill, dedication, and strong work ethic.

Jackie lovingly raised her three sons — Ron, Don, and Frank, — in California before marrying the love of her life, Lee East in 1968.  Lee later adopted Ron, Don, and Frank, lovingly claiming them as his own. Lee and Jackie then welcomed a daughter, Michelle, completing their family. After settling in Greenfield, Missouri to be closer to family, Lee and Jackie built a life centered around love, fun, and hard work.

Jackie spent 16 years working as a nail technician and opened a hair and nail salon alongside her daughter, Michelle. She had a passion for camping, fishing, horseback riding, music, and dancing. Above all else, Jackie treasured time with her family, who were the greatest joy of her life.

Jackie is survived by her children: Ron East and his wife Joniene, Don East, Frank East and his wife Holli, and Michelle Barnett; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and friends that were more like family— all of whom brought her endless pride and happiness.

For the past 7 years, Jackie resided at Ash Grove Healthcare Facility, where she was deeply loved and cared for by staff and residents alike. She especially enjoyed playing Bingo and the friendships she formed there, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lee East; her parents, Frank and Wanda Ormonde; and her brother, Frank Ormonde.

Jackie will be remembered by the way she lived, loved, and laughed.

Services will be held on January 31, 2026, at Ash Grove First Baptist Church at 11:00.
