Jack Edward Thomas, 88, of Springfield, MO, passed away November 15, 2020. He was born March 12, 1932, in Oskaloosa, IA, to David and Felicia Thomas. He had 6 older beautiful sisters who have all preceded him in death.
Jack grew up in Iowa but as a young man did some traveling and ended up in California where he met the love of his life, Peggy. They had two children, Dan and Lori. In the early 1960's the family began studying the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses. In 1966 Jack and Peggy symbolized their dedication to serving the Creator, Jehovah, by being baptized as Jehovah's Witnesses. They spent most of their life in Fulltime service as volunteer ministers. Jack served as a traveling overseer in many different areas of the country, where he was a shepherd, a teacher, a brother, a friend. In 2000 they decided to return to Missouri but not to retire. They continued their fulltime ministry together until Jack was debilitated with a stroke. However, under the loving care of Wilson's Creek Nursing and Rehab, he continued his ministry up until his death.
Jack is survived by his wife of 67 years, Peggy, his son Dan and daughter-in-law Kris, his daughter Lori and son-in-law David, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services.
