Helen Sophia Fisher, 83, of Strafford, MO, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, in her home surrounded by her family. Helen was born on June 12, 1934, to Willard Winslow (Gus) and Rose Baxter in Flint, Michigan.

Helen married the love of her life, Leroy Fisher, on November 16, 1951, they enjoyed 65 years together. Helen worked at the Shopper's Fair in Springfield, MO, for several years. Then she went to work at the Greene County Bank in Strafford for 35 years. She enjoyed watching her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing sports. She spent hours knitting blankets for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several loved ones. She enjoyed listening and watching the St. Louis Cardinals with Leroy. She loved crossword puzzles, reading a wide genre of books, feeding the hummingbirds and keeping Leroy in line. She was a member of Henderson Baptist church for 33 years; she loved her church family very much.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy; her parents, Willard Winslow Baxter, Rose Baxter; and sister, Florence Roberts.

Helen is survived by her 5 children: Kay and Luke Caldwell of Strafford, Mike and Angie Fisher of Strafford, Tim and Kristi Fisher of Tin Town, Russell and Kristie Fisher of Harrisonville and Sherry and Twentin Alexander of Strafford; 12 grandkids, 27 great-grandkids; sister, Donna Baxter of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews and a whole passel of friends.

Services will be held at Henderson Baptist Church in Rogersville, MO, on Sunday, July 9, 2017.  Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m with a memorial service to follow.
