Helen Allmon

May 1, 1939 — May 30, 2026

Rogersville

Helen Marie Allmon, 87, of Rogersville, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus surrounded by her loved ones on May 30, 2026.

Helen Marie (Brooks) Allmon was born on May 1, 1939, to Elvis and Clara Brooks. She was raised alongside four sisters and a baby brother, all of whom she loved dearly.

On August 17, 1957, she married the love of her life, Doyle Allmon. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work, and were blessed with six children: Douglas, Robert, Doylita, Susan, Jennifer, and Eric.

A devoted Christian, Helen gave her life to the Lord at an early age and remained steadfast in her faith throughout her life. She led by example as a God-fearing woman, touching countless lives and helping guide family and friends to Christ. Helen truly was a disciple for the Lord; hardly a conversation was held without her mentioning her Savior.

She wore many hats over the years—dedicated homemaker, dairy farmer, store owner, caregiver, and the heart of her family. Whether she was raising children, spoiling grandchildren, caring for great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, or serving up her famous fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, and Mississippi Mud Cake after church, she made everyone feel loved and welcome.

Helen enjoyed spending time on the phone catching up with family and friends, especially her lifelong best friend, Mary Alice Pool. No matter how busy life became, she always made time for the people she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Doyle; and her infant son, Douglas.

She is survived by her children: Robert (Donna) Allmon of Rogersville; Doylita (Roger) McCormack of Rogersville; Susan (Danny) Cantrell of Fair Play; Jennifer “Jenny” Allmon of Springfield; and Eric (Heather) Allmon of Diggins.

She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Misty (Frank) Potter, Leann (Nelson) Vazquez, Krystal (Ramsey) Stewart, Ashley (Eric) Reece, Lane (Wendy) Young, Colter (Andonae’) Cantrell, Cody Allmon, Jordan (Lytoya) Duke, Caitlyn (Jake) Wallen, Kylie Cantrell, Cory Cantrell, Wyatt Allmon, Hadley Allmon, and Haisley Allmon.

Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Aspen, Carson, Rhylee, Madyson, Braydon, Allie, Greer, Lia, Ty, Brody, Stetson, AvaMae, Jensen, Adeline, Katherine, Mariana, Maddox, Miley, Raelynn, Maverick, Lincoln, Callahan, and Romalee; and her great-great-grandchildren: Rayleigh, Sadie, Weston, Oaklynn, Aila, and Everie.

She is also survived by her loving siblings: Ellen Coram, Shirley (Dean) Stufflebean, Mary (Bob) Burnett, Rick (Carol) Sharp, Sarah (Richard) Compton, and many others who were blessed to know and love her. Her niece , Gwen held a special place in her heart too. If you knew Helen, everyone was her “favorite.” She truly loved people.

Helen was one of the most honest people you could ever meet. If you asked her opinion about a new haircut, an outfit, or whether you had put on a few pounds, you had better be prepared for an answer—and it would always be the truth. Her honesty was never unkind; it came from a place of love and genuine care.

She had a remarkable gift for making strangers feel like lifelong friends. Her kindness was as sweet as the desserts she baked, and her home was a place where everyone felt welcome. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, and the love she poured into others will continue to be felt for generations.

While she will be deeply missed, we find comfort in the promise of our Lord Jesus Christ and the assurance that one day we will see her again. This isn’t goodbye—it’s “see you later” Her prayer was that all of her family and friends will see her in Heaven someday.
