Harvey Jr Bussard, 82, of Springfield, passed away May 3, 2018. He was born July 20, 1935, in Springfield, to Rev. Harve and Mary Bussard.
Harvey loved baseball and played on the '66 league semi-pro ball championship team. He also played with Mickey Mantel and had an offer to go pro with the Pittsburg Pirates. However, Harvey and Pauline were raising children so he decided to stay to be with them. He had a career as a carpenter, manager of a wholesale plumbing supply and lumber yard, and left the work force as a top salesman for Riback-commercial heating and air supply. Harvey was married to Pauline for 62 years before her death in 2017.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Pauline Bussard; parents; and siblings, Alvin Bussard, Herbert Bussard and Irene Dildine.
Harvey is survived by his sons, Mark Bussard and Sheila Goodrich, Darrell Bussard and wife Anna, and Randall Bussard and wife Carrie; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, May 9, 2018, in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
