Grace Ellen Adkisson Compton, 88, of Springfield, MO passed away Friday, August 30, 2024. She was born January 26, 1936, in East Prairie, MO to Manuel and Kathaleen Adkisson.

She graduated from East Prairie High School in 1953, and attended Central Methodist College in Fayette, MO. She married in 1954 and had three children, Laura Compton Brandt, Ronald K. Compton (Nancee), and Sarah Compton Asperger (Bob). She had five grandchildren, Kelsey Compton McKinney (Matt), Kirby Compton (Sarah), Emma Compton (Dylan), Robert Asperger, and Steven Asperger. In addition, Grace had three great-grandchildren, Lily, James and Charlotte, a brother Gary Adkisson (Jeanne) and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Grace was a bookkeeper in the home construction business for many years in St. Louis, MO. She was a big sports fan, and especially loved the St. Louis Cardinals. She also loved her three dogs, Wendy, Bingo, and Dixie. But her most cherished activity was spending time with her family especially her five grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Humane Society of Missouri, Open Door Animal Sanctuary in St. Louis, or the Alzheimer's Association.

Celebration of Life will be Saturday, September 21, 2024, in East Prairie, MO at Nelson Memorial UMC. Visitation will be at 1:00pm with the Service following at 2:00pm.
