IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Glenna
Weston
September 23, 1930 – October 11, 2020
Glenna Mae Weston, age 90, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on October 11, 2020. She was born to B.A. and Loma Chadwick on September, 23, 1930, Wiseman, Arkansas.
Glenna graduated in 1948 from Springfield High School, Springfield. On September 3, 1948, she married her high school sweetheart, James N. Weston. This started a lifelong adventure of almost 62 years! James and Glenna then moved to San Diego where James served in the Navy during the Korean War. Once he was honorably discharged from the service they moved to Tulsa where he attended Tulsa University and then moved back to Springfield after graduation. They started a highly successful building and land development that ran almost till James death in 2010. They also were the owners of J. Weston, Ltd., a high quality clothing store at the Battlefield Mall. No matter what the business was they worked as a finely tuned pair, each bringing a different set of skills. The most important thing to them though was always family! They were tremendous parents to their only child, Tim Weston! They taught love, compassion, and hard work. They were very close to their parents, siblings and spouses, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. This meant holidays, birthdays, time at the cabin, and vacations, were most likely spent together. Gatherings were always filled with love! Even after James passed in 2010 the sense of love never diminished. Glenna remained active in her home church of University Heights Baptist Church of over 50+ years. Her later years were filled with lunch visits with friends and family, spending hours on the phone, babysitting her great-grandchildren, or watching Fox news. James and Glenna were passionate about Missouri State Bears basketball (season ticket holders for 42 years), Drury basketball, Cardinals baseball, traveling overseas, and going on trips with other family members in their RV's.
Glenna was preceded in death by her loving husband, James N. Weston; parents, B.A. and Loma Chadwick; and brother, Duane Chadwick.
She is survived by her son, Tim Weston (spouse Tammy); granddaughters, Brittany Stagner (husband Virgil) and Ellie Ray-Weston (fiancé Ryan Eddings); great-grandchildren, Parker Ray and Rosalie Packwood; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends!
Glenna's granddaughter Ellie said it best when talking about her Grandma Glenna and Papa Jimmy, "My grandparents were the best people I have ever known. Nobody is as kind, generous, and loving as they were. If I'm ever half as good of a person as they were, I'll be proud."
