Obituary

Glenn Dwayne Sutherland of Nixa MO, passed peacefully Friday, May 1, 2020 on his 85th Birthday. He was born in Drasco, AR, May 1, 1935, to Orton Benjamin Sutherland and Lura Liles Sutherland.

Glenn was employed at Hallmark Cards Inc, Kansas City, MO for 40 years of service. He retired as manager of photopolymer department.

Glenn (the Gentle Giant) was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. He enjoyed playing soft ball, slow pitch, basketball, golfing and bird watching. Summers often included several family camping & canoeing trips. He loved fishing from their home at Lake of the Ozarks and was known for gathering his family & friends for fish fries & hush puppies. Glenn enjoyed refinishing family heirlooms when the fish weren't biting. Most of all he loved being with his family, "his girls", and making his blond haired granddaughter "little bit" giggle.

He was active in the United Methodist Church. Glenn held various positions, was involved in UM Men's clubs, chaperoned youth activities, was a Volunteer In Mission (VIM) stateside and in Mozambique, Africa. Glenn has a namesake, Little Glenn from relationships built in Africa. He is a member of the Aldersgate UMC, Nixa, MO.
