Shortly after George was born in California, his family relocated to Stoutland, Missouri to be with family and then returned back to California to work in the shipyards thereafter. After years of living in California, the family moved back to Stoutland again where they would eternally reside and where George and his siblings would attend grade school. After graduating high school, George became employed at Waynesville Memorial Hospital, where he met Shirley who would later become his wife. George and Shirley then got married on April 29, 1961 in Stoutland and had two children, Jeff and Georgie. After their first child, Jeff was born, they moved to St. Louis, Missouri where George worked in a shoe factory. The family would later move back to Stoutland after their second child, Georgie was born and where George worked as a barber. They later settled in Lebanon, Missouri where George became a businessman, starting Marshall's Mobile Homes in 1986 and grew the business.

In his spare time, George loved playing golf and bowling with friends and family. He loved to play cards any chance he got and could play pitch for hours on end. He was an avid pool player and loved Cardinals baseball and Chiefs football.

The graveside service will be held at Stoutland Cemetery on June 26 at 11am. Family and friends are encouraged to share special stories and memories during this service.
