George "Skip" Marshall passed away on February 1, 2026.   George was born on November 1, 1942, in Eugene, Oregon to George and Ardis (Caswell) Marshall, and went to school in Noti, joining the Coast Guard while still in high school.  He later served with the Air Force. He spent many years after leaving the service driving truck over the road and local and lived in many different states, including Oregon, Montana, Hawaii, California, Missouri, Idaho and Nevada

George married Pamela Reisbig in 1965, and they had 5 children together.  In 1974 he remarried, to Velma Hockley, and they joined their families, together having a total of 13 children in the span of their marriage. George was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ardis; his older brother, Larry Marshall; his sisters, Sandra (Marshall) Kirkpatrick and Francis Jean Marshall; wife, Velma; and four sons, Wesley Marshall, George (Butch) Marshall, Charles (Mike) Rhoades, and Jay Marshall; granddaughters, M'Kenzie Marshall and Sabrina Crapser; as well as daughter in law, Missy Marshall; and son in law, Daniel West.  George is survived by his sister, Judi (Gary) Robbins of Veneta, Oregon;  3 sons, David Marshall and Jeremy Marshall, both of Eugene Oregon, and Allen Marshall of Reedsport, Oregon; 6 daughters, Cindy (Greg) Anson, Sheryl (Brian Crapser) Volk, Brenda (Eric) Hansen of Eugene, Oregon, Lori (Kurt) Hoffman of Spokane, Washington, Lynn West of Springfield, Missouri, and Samantha (Melanie Castle) Weaver, of Eastlake, Ohio. George has 36 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson, and many nieces and nephews all over the country.

George enjoyed camping, spending time with his enormous family, loving holiday times when as much family could get together to celebrate.  He amassed a large friend group over the years, having lived in so many different places. He called Reedsport, Oregon the home of his heart, living there for 20 years before moving to Missouri to be closer to his Midwest family as he grew older. He enjoyed going to his "gym" three times a week at HHI, and spending time with the staff and members. Often seen riding around Springfield with his scooter, he was "the buggy guy" to people that became used to seeing him as he passed on his way to the gym.  He was a big man with a big voice, and an even bigger heart, and his family will miss him dearly
