IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gail Marie
Price
November 18, 1946 – November 21, 2018
Gail Price was born November 18, 1946, at Faxton Hospital in Utica, New York, to the now-late Edwin and Audrey (Baylander) Stukey. The oldest of four children, she and her cousin Freddie, who was born just one month before, were among the first wave of the post-World War II baby boom. They grew up amidst a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Gail was a 1964 graduate of Holland Patent High School and briefly attended LeTourneau College in Longview, Texas. On September 24, 1966, she married Robert G. Price Jr. of Ilion, New York. They welcomed a son, Robert, in 1967, and another son, Russell, in 1975.
Throughout the 1970s Gail was a member of the Stittville (New York) Fire Department Women's Auxiliary and enjoyed participating in local bowling leagues. In her spare time, she hosted Beeline Fashion parties at the homes of friends, family, and colleagues. Gail's work career was spent as a bookkeeper for various businesses in central and northern New York, including Tri-State Industrial Laundries, PepsiCo, and Whitney Janitorial, and later, Cassini Tile and Terrazzo in Lafayette, Indiana.
Gail and Bob moved to Delphi, Indiana, in 1993 with Russell to join their older son and his family, where Rob served as associate pastor at the local Assembly of God. They began attending the church, and Gail rededicated her life to Christ. She became involved in preschool and teen girl ministries and experienced miraculous healings. Rob's family moved to Springfield, Missouri, in 2000 and were followed within a few years by Gail and Bob, where Gail was a frequent and willing caregiver to their two granddaughters.
Gail's hobbies included reading (murder mysteries were a favorite genre), knitting, quilting, playing games, and—with the advent of retirement and the Food Network—cooking.
She is survived by her husband Bob of Springfield, Missouri; son Rob and wife Colleen of Springfield, Missouri; son Russell of Delphi, Indiana; granddaughter Brenna (Price) and husband Mark Alvarez of Springfield; granddaughter Shauna Price of Springfield; brother Brad Stukey of Stittville, New York; brother Jim Stukey of Craig, Alaska; and sister Heidi Shott of Newcastle, Maine.
