IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gail Arlen
Hammock
August 20, 1937 – May 11, 2018
Gail Arlen Hammock, 80, of Springfield, MO, and Linn, MO, went to be with the Lord Friday, May 11, 2018, in the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Sammy and Kathy Hammock.
Gail was born in Littlefork, MN, in 1937 to Bill and Viola Mueller. She was born a twin but her twin brother, Gary Mueller, passed away. As a small child Gail and her family moved to Alaska where she lived until she was 15. She then married Sam Hammock who was in the service and stationed in Alaska. They settled in Springfield. Gail worked in a high end clothing store for many years which is where she got her sense of style. Her main job was being a stay-at-home mom raising her six children which she seemed to do with ease.
In Gail's later years, she moved to live on her son-in-law and daughter's farm in Linn, MO, where she lived for 14 good years.
Gail's main passion in life were her animals and she had all kinds. In Heaven she is taking care of all God's creatures in his Kingdom. She was a warm, compassionate, nonjudgmental and caring soul.
Gail was strong in will and character. She was also a prankster. She loved to play dice with her friends and grandchildren. Her heart was made of gold and she will be dearly missed.
Gail will be met in heaven by her mom and dad, Bill and Viola Mueller; sister, Audrey Jones; brother, Billy Mueller; and twin brother, Gary Mueller.
She is survived by her dog, Missy; sisters, Judy Jett and Joan Markley; six children, Sammy Hammock, Pam Darnaby, Kim Hammock, Sandi Thompson, Tracy Hammock, Billy Hammock; daughters-in-law, Suzette Hammock and Kathy Hammock; and sons-in-law, Eric Thompson and Greg Darnaby; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly but they "loved her more".
Celebration of life services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, the 19th of May. Her service will held at the farm she loved in Linn, MO. In lieu, of flowers, the family is asking that you donate to your choice of animal shelters. Where pigs can fly in Linn, MO, is a great one.
