Frances Elizabeth (Platcher) Scott, age 77, passed away in the comfort of her home on Monday, October 21, 2024, in Halfway, Missouri surrounded by her beloved family.
Frances was born on Oct. 30, 1946, to Charles and Dorothy (Brougham) Platcher in Melrose Park, Illinois. She was one of five children. Frances graduated from Fenton High School, Bensenville, Illinois, in 1964, shortly after which she met her husband, James Edward Scott. They were married on May 14, 1966, in Bensenville, Illinois, for 51 years until James' passing on Oct.26, 2017.
In August 1969, Frances and her husband settled in Halfway, Missouri where they started a small farm which turned into a large dairy operation of 25 years, eventually transitioning into beef cattle in 2000.
Frances always made family a priority, she had a great passion for life and the outdoors. Frances loved seeing the country from horseback. She had many hobbies, horseback riding, arrowhead hunting on her farm, antiquing, fishing, traveling and always living life to its fullest. In recent years Frances enjoyed a lake home with her partner Sam Comento where they enjoyed the lake life with all that it had to offer including fishing and a community of friends.
Frances is survived by her life partner, Sam Comento; daughter, Deborah (Scott) Brown (life partner) Mike Rosa, and her child Taylor King (fiancé) TJ Jackson, son Matthew Scott (spouse) Rebecca (McIntire) Scott and their two children, Mikayla (Scott) Jack (spouse) Trae Jack, Garret Scott (spouse) Olivia (Leake) Scott, and their children Amelia and Hattie Scott; sister Margie (Platcher) Byerly (spouse) Gary Byerly, sister Mary Jo (Platcher) Gold (spouse) Dwain Gold; and many other loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband James Scott, parents Charles and Dorothy (Brougham) Platcher, and siblings John Platcher and Jane (Platcher) Krecker.
