Florence S. (Shellenberger) Benner, 80, of Springfield, MO, peacefully passed away to join her Lord in her home, Wednesday, March 5, 2014. She was surrounded by her loving family. Florence enjoyed being with her family, baking for her family and friends, and teaching her great-granddaughters to bake cookies. She is remembered for her FINE pies.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and one sister.

Florence is survived by her husband, Park Wayne Benner of 63 ½ years; daughter, Carol Smith of Morgantown, WV; son, David Wayne Benner and wife Sharon of Lataobe, PA; daughter, Connie Benton and husband, Kevin of Springfield, MO; and daughter, Faith Benner of Springfield, MO; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Edna Feltman of Millerstown, PA; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their thanks to Hospice Compassus for the loving and tender care given to Florence and her family during this time of illness and death.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 ~ 4:00 PM and 6:00 ~ 7:00 PM, Sunday, March 9, 2014, in the Brown's Funeral Home, McAlisterville, PA, with funeral services following at 7:00 PM, also in the funeral home. A committal will be held at 10 AM, Monday, March 10, 2014, in the Goodwill Cemetery, Bunkertown, PA.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, March 22, 2014, in the Grace Assembly of God, Mt. Vernon St., Springfield, MO. Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services, Springfield.
