Faye Mardella Blanton (maiden; Davis), 81, of Springfield, Missouri passed away on August 1, 2021, of Covid. Faye was born in Gary, Indiana on March 1, 1940.
She finished high school at the School of the Ozarks and then continued on to take college classes at SMSU. She enjoyed working at Division of Family Services for both Greene and Christian counties as an administrative assistant. She had been retired for several years.
She was a very active member of Chapel for Peace, Community of Christ Church. She dearly loved her church. She was a faithful and dedicated servant. She loved singing in the choir, teaching classes, and fellowship with her congregation.
She was a loving and devoted "Sweet Momma" to her three children and "Granny Faye" to her granddaughter. She was a dear friend to many. Faye is survived by children: Deanna Blanton Villarreal, Douglas Blanton, and Kendall Blanton, granddaughter; Angelica Villarreal and several nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents, Vernon and Nellie Davis, sister Linda Clark, and brother Leonard Davis.
She had been married to Bert Blanton, the father of her children, for 13 years. A celebration of life ceremony will be planned at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in her name to Chapel for Peace, 909 W. Battlefield Rd. Spfld., MO 65807
