IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Evelyn Joy
Denney
March 5, 1941 – February 27, 2020
Evelyn Joy Denney was born March 5, 1941, to William and Evelyn Nuttle in Joplin, Missouri. Evelyn went to Heaven on February 27, 2020 after a long illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert Nuttle.
Evelyn left behind her four children, Gary Denney and wife Darlene of Springfield, MO, Greg Denney and wife Sherry of Springfield, MO, Kenneth Denney and wife Lori Pickard-Denney of Apple Valley, CA, and Joyce "Sam" Fisher of Springfield, MO; nine grandchildren, Tiffany, Kimberlee, Jennifer, Kelsey, Ian, Tedi, Shannon, Kerry, and William; twelve, great-grandchildren, Cameron, Zoey, Roo, Parker, Jenson, Emery, Stone, Vasily, Vincent, Veronica, Lena and Lane; her brother, Bill Nuttle; sister, Kay Howard; several nieces and nephews; and three longtime friends, Cheryl Solorza and husband Bob, Nancy McBride and husband Mac and Diane Hummel
Evelyn Retired from Itt- Barton in California and moved to Springfield in 2002. Evelyn was very active in life. She collected butterflies and loved bowling, playing cards with friends and the Elks club, sewing quilts, and going on fabric runs. She was in book clubs and the Red Hats Club. She volunteered her time at both the library and meals on wheels and crocheted hats to donate. She especially liked her trips each year to visit with her friends and family in California.
Since becoming ill she looked forward to her great-grandson, Cameron, staying with her during the summer and collecting as many birthdays as she could, trying to outlive the ones that went before her.
She was a very independent woman who was there for her friends and family. She will be missed by so many.
The family would like to send a special thank you with much appreciation to her nurse Casey and Dr. David Summerfield of Fresenius Kidney Care in Springfield who treated her as if she were their only patient. She truly loved you both.
