Eva Marie Dahms (nee Okon) died Thursday, December 19, 2019. She was born in Germany in 1924 and immigrated to American with her parents, Hans & Maria Okon, and sister Adelaide in the early 1930s.

She grew up in the Chicago area where she met and married her sweetheart, Roy (aka Gal) Dahms and raised their three children, Wayne Thulin, Judy Kent and Nancee Dahms-Stinson, before moving to Ballwin, Missouri in 1964. After losing Gal in 1980, Eva stayed in her home until  2018 when she moved to Springfield. Eva was an avid gardener and bird-lover and excelled at sewing and cooking.

She is survived by her three children, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren, all of whom continue to enjoy her recipes for hot potato salad, kolackies and almond skillet cake.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
