Obituary

Elmer Leroy Fisher, 82, of Strafford, MO, passed away Friday, January 27, 2017, in his home surrounded by his family. Leroy was born on August 19, 1934, to George A. Fisher and Juanita Ruth (Ferguson) Fisher in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Leroy married the love of his life Helen Baxter on November 16, 1951, they enjoyed 65 years together.  Leroy enjoyed being a truck driver, school bus driver, welder for Paul Mueller, structural steel fabricator, guitarist and a personal chauffeur for Helen and grandkids. He also enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing sports, fishing, hunting, and singing to them all. Leroy was a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan. If he was unable to watch the game on TV, he would listen to the game on the radio, either in his car or at home while watching westerns. He was a member of Henderson Baptist church for 33 years, he loved his church family very much, especially all the ladies who gave him kisses!

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, George and Juanita; brother, George Fisher; brother, John "Bud' Fisher; and sister, Audrey Fisher.
