Elisa Jane Ferguson of Springfield, was born March 19, 1997, to William Kent and Mary Beth Ferguson. On October 15, 2018, she died at age 21.
Janie began her schooling in Clever before moving to the Reeds Spring area where she completed elementary and middle school. Her high school years commenced at Reeds Spring, from there she moved to Rogersville, ending her high school experience in the Springfield School District. She loved school and had many friends. She was on the track team at Reeds Spring H.S. She enjoyed her academic classes as well as sports. She particularly loved English classes in which her writing skills were evidenced, and Art in which her artistic ability was displayed. She also loved to read and spent long hours with her books, a habit which continued throughout her life. After high school, she began designing and creating jewelry, which she sold to local art shops. She was also learning the art of designing clothes and using her sewing machine to make the clothes she designed.
Janie is survived by her parents, Kent and Mary Beth Ferguson of Nixa; brother, Jesse Ferguson and his wife Christine of Clever; and brother, Christopher Borden of Ozark. Janie was fond of her nephews, Buddy, Jaxon, Jameson and Uriah. She is also survived by her paternal grandparents, Don and Ella Jones of Galena and Lee Ferguson of Huntersville, NC; her Uncle Kerry and Aunt Cecelia Ferguson of Hannibal, MO; Aunt Julie May of St. Louis; Uncle Jeff David of Taiwan; Aunt Joanne Kampschmidt of Shelbina; cousins Brittany and Dan Waller of St. Charles; cousins Zachary and Miranda Ferguson of Holly Ridge, NC; and cousin Jake May of Taiwan; plus many other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Janie's life was held on Sunday, October 28, 2018.
