Edward "Eddie" Anthony Redden went to be with Jesus on Monday, January 12, 2026, at age 61. Eddie was born January 31st, 1964, in Council Bluffs, IA to William (Bill) John Redden II of Philadelphia and Deolvia (Dee) Faye (Allen) Rampy of Childress, TX while Bill was stationed there with the Air Force.
Eddie was raised in Amarillo, TX. He was baptized at age 10 at Grace Baptist Church in Amarillo and attended Amarillo High School. He joined the Navy's Delayed Entry Program, then worked for Cox Cable and attended Amarillo College for computer education and West Texas Community College for fiber optics. He worked in mobile home and furniture sales before owning Redden's Legacy Futons and Furniture. Eddie lived in Oregon before moving to Mountain Home, AR where he met his wife, Heather Michelle Young (father, Michael Andrew Young and mother, Theresa Jo Fisk). They married September 6, 2001, in St. Thomas. They moved to Springfield in April 2002. He enjoyed camping and supporting his children and grandchildren in activities: band, choir, baseball, soccer, football, tennis, wrestling, and Scouts. At Wesley UMC, he enjoyed assisting with Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and summer camp. He enjoyed skiing, great food, and practical jokes.
He is predeceased by his parents; sister, Kerri Michelle Redden; and sister-in-law, Cheryl (Robert).
Eddie will be forever remembered by his wife; daughter, Lacie (Derek) of Ozark; sons, Dalton and Roman of Springfield; one grandson; brothers, William John Redden III (Jennifer) and Robert Allen Redden (Cheryl) of Amarillo; sisters, Rhonda Mae Harvey (Jeff) of Nixa, Sherri Renee Botts (Richard) of Mt. Vernon, MO, Brittany Dawn Douglass (Tim); 3 nieces; and 9 nephews.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, January 18, 2026, at 2pm, in the sanctuary of Wesley United Methodist Church, 922 West Republic Road, Springfield, MO. Interment will take place in Willow Springs City Cemetery in Willow Springs, MO with his wife's family at a later date.
