Earl Gilman

Earl Richard Gilman, 99, was born on April 23, 1927 in Skowhegan, ME to Edwin and Ruth Gilman. He passed away on August 23, 2026 at Cox South Hospital, surrounded by his son, grandson and granddaughter-in-law.

He was a faithful Seventh-day Adventist Christian who loved the Lord. He was an active member of the Lebanon, MO Seventh-day Adventist church right up until his death.

Earl was preceded in death by both of his parents, most of his siblings, of which there were many, his first wife, Doris Gilman, ne Glazier, of 60 years, his second wife, Beverly, of 12 years, and his son, Deane Gilman.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta, his son, Delbert Gilman (Karen), daughter-in-law Christine Gilman, six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and eleven great great grandchildren, brothers Dale Gilman, and Alan Gilman, sisters Marilyn Gilman, and Joan Crawford.

Earl was a proud army veteran who loved his country and his time in service. He was a paratrooper with the 82nd airborne, a guard at the Nuremburg war trials, and a helicopter pilot for many years.

Earl loved giving Bible studies, fishing, gardening, Florida where he lived for many years, listening to gospel music, and his family. He was a very generous man, quietly helping many people over the years.

Earl will be missed by many who loved him. His memorial service will be on October 17, 2026 at 4 pm, at the Lebanon, MO Seventh-day Adventist church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
