Drew Allen Ness, 36, of Springfield, MO, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 19, 2023. He resided in Springfield, MO, where he began his career in the optical industry. Drew was a hard worker who lived life to the fullest. He was guided by his heart, which served as both his strength and weakness. Drew cared deeply for his family and friends, but his love and dedication were especially evident in his devotion to his mother, whom he cared for selflessly. Drew had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed various outdoor hobbies. He possessed a natural talent for working on vehicles and could always be found tinkering under the hood. No matter the problem, Drew had an innate ability to figure it out. In the past year, he had been focusing on advancing his education in the automotive industry, with hopes of pursuing a career in a field he was truly passionate about.

Drew was preceded in death by his mother, Rhonda Rae James-Reffruschinni; his father, Brock Allen Ness; his stepfather, Jay James; his grandfather, Benjamin Reffruschinni; his grandfather, Robert Ness; and his grandmother, Carol Ness.

He is survived by his girlfriend, Ashley Qualls; his sister, Chandra Lee Ness-Foster; brother, Nick Buffkin; life-long brothers, Frankie Hamtak and Chris Long; grandmother, Star Reffruschinni; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Drew made a profound impact on the lives of many and will be deeply missed.

To honor his memory, a memorial will be held at Midwest Funeral and Cremation on Thursday, December 21, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, located at 2026 W. Woodland St. Springfield, Missouri 65807. The funeral home, under the direction of Ashley Qualls, will oversee the service. Following the visitation, a private bonfire will be held to allow close friends and family to share stories and cherished memories. This gathering will be directed by Chris Long and Frankie Hamtak. Drew's final ceremony will take place this summer in Harvey, Michigan, under the direction of Sault Tribe and Chandra Ness-Foster, where he will be laid to rest.
