Douglas Curtis Padgett, 67, of Springfield, MO, passed away September 28, 2022. He was born August 28, 1955, in Kansas City, MO, to Darius Curtis Padgett and Rose Marie (Clemens) Padgett.

Doug believed in staying 'young at heart' and lived his life as such. He loved learning and always kept his mind open to new ideas and different opinions. He was never afraid to just pick up and go, even without a plan for surviving once his destination was reached. He was a history buff; he was a football fan (specifically a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs); he loved music of all kinds, especially Frank Zappa and all sorts of blues; he played the harmonica and a little guitar; more than anything else, he was a proud of his children and all they have become.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his second son, Darius Curtis Padgett II. He is survived by both of his sisters, two of his children, one daughter-in-law and five grandchildren.

The family has decided to forego traditional services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services.
