Dorothy Faye Storey, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on December 10, 2024, at the age of 93. She was born on October 20, 1931, to Orville King Willard and Bertha Gertrude Walker.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Melvin P. Storey; her daughter, Linda L. Fee; her parents; and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her sisters, Sharon McReynolds, Clara Koelling, Mary Kunstleben, brother Jim Willard, daughter, Brenda Lemons, and her husband, Buster; granddaughter, Lisa Hale and husband Matt, grandsons, Doug Eyman, and wife Jennifer; Mike Harrison and wife Cammy; Jeff Harrison and wife Jan; and adopted son, Ronnie Newsom, and wife Trish. Dorothy is also survived by several great-grandchildren, including Jordan, Hannah, JaCeline, Levi, Bryson, Isabelle, Allison, Grant, Gavin, BJ, and Amanda, along with great-great-grandchildren Annie, Emma, Hank, and Aaron.
Throughout Dorothy's career, she owned and operated several businesses, including Mr. Swiss Drive-Inn and Daylight Doughnuts in West Plains, and Paradise Doughnuts in Marshfield. When she wasn't managing her own businesses, Dorothy worked as a cook for Tiny's restaurant in Marshfield MO.
Dorothy was a woman of many talents—cooking, baking, and sewing—and she was never one to sit idle. She was always busy around the house, caring for her family and loved ones. Her culinary skills were not just a profession, but a true love, and she often found joy in preparing meals for those she cared about. Her home was a place of warmth, and she was known for her nurturing spirit and her love of caring for others. Dorothy's greatest joy was being with her family and friends, she will be greatly missed for her unwavering love, her caring nature, and the special way she touched everyone around her.
A celebration of Life service will be held at Praise Assembly of God located at 3535 N Glenstone, Springfield MO on February 8th, 2025, at 10 AM.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
