Obituary

Doris Earle "Huff" McGlothlin was born May 14, 1938 in Oxford, North Carolina to Baxter and Margaret "Bumpas" Huff and left this life peacefully on the morning of April 10, 2018 with her oldest daughter at her side.

Doris graduated from Montreat Christian College in 1958. Then moved to Raleigh where she met the love of her life Ronnie Roger "MAC" McGlothlin.   They were married in Georgia on March 8, 1959. They eventually landed outside of Lebanon, Missouri and the Double RM Ranch where their intent was for them, their children and their families to follow would reside forever: however Mac passed away on November 8, 1972 leaving her to raise their 4 children, two daughters Julia Diane and Vivian Marie and two sons Michael Patrick and Patrick Michael. Her greatest joy and in her opinion her greatest accomplishment were her children. She raised 4 successful, hardworking, determined, loving, caring, compassionate, giving children who in turn raised wonderful like minded grandchildren and great grandchildren.

After selling the farm in Lebanon and moving to the Dallas Ft Worth area she worked in sales, first in swimming pools, later for 20+ years with the Ft Worth Star Telegram. She also had a successful side business with Home Interiors. When she retired she moved back to the Springfield, Missouri area where she worked as a receptionist for Fry Construction Services.

Doris loved life and all it had to offer. Even after it became painful to move around and confined her to bed she still had a positive attitude making the best out of what life had handed her.

Doris loved life. 1st and foremost her family but she also loved people and left a trail of friends scattered all of these United States. She loved her flowers, having a green thumb, starting with her Irises in the Spring going to Roses then her Lilies. She also was quite the card player (even a Canasta champion in college). She enjoyed reading Nora Roberts and her other romance novels. But beyond all it was the gatherings she loved most and all were welcome at these events she knew how to decorate and host a party.

Doris is proceeded in death by her husband "Mac" and her parents Baxter and Margaret.
